Baritone Kellen Schrimper returns to Pacific Northwest Opera after an exciting debut last year as Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro. An emerging dramatic baritone noted for his plangent, warm tone and noble stage presence, his other notable debuts this season include Marcello in La Bohème and the Pilot in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince. In 2023, as a Gerdine Young Artist, he made his company debut with Opera Theatre of St. Louis as Sciarrone in Tosca, and covered the role of Scarpia as well as Reverend Blitch in their production of Susannah. Prior to his time in Saint Louis, he was an apprentice and featured artist with Des Moines Metro Opera.
