Woong-Cheon Kim was born in Seoul, Korea. He makes his United States opera debut with these performances of Madame Butterfly. He received a Certificate in Vocal Performance and a Bachelors in Music at Chung-Ang University in Seoul. While attending CAU, he appeared in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro as Count Almaviva, Puccini’s La Bohéme as Marcello, and Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore as Belcore.
Woong Kim’s most recent performances include singing Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff for the Seattle Opera Preview Guild and Celebrate Asia with Seattle Symphony in January 2010. He is currently attending the University of Washington, where he is working on Master Degree in Vocal Performance with renowned soprano Jane Eaglen.
