California native soprano Charlotte Khuner is excited to make her Pacific Northwest Opera debut as the First Forest Sprite. Starting at a young age, Charlotte began her career on the stage as Dolore in Madama Butterfly and Gherardino in Gianni Schicchi. While studying psychology at Goucher College, Charlotte was awarded the Beverly and George Pollock Memorial Prize for Music for her performances of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel and as the title role in Suor Angelica. After a year as a Fulbright Scholar, Charlotte was awarded the Te Deum Ad Infinitum scholarship from the Berlin University of the Arts, and is currently studying Opera with Prof. Deborah York where she will complete her Master’s degree in July of 2025. Charlotte was a recent finalist in the prestigious Zukunftsstimmen competition with Elīna Garanča, and has performed as Lisa in La Sonnambula, Soeur Constance in Les Dialogues des Carmelites, and Anne Frank in The Diary of Anne Frank by Grigori Frid, as well as Schoenberg’s Op. 15: The Book of the Hanging Gardens.
