Tales of Hoffmann
By Jacques Offenbach
French composer, Jacques Offenbach, noted more for his sparkling operettas, based The Tales of Hoffman on three fantastical stories (“tales”) by German Romantic poet E.T.A. Hoffmann, author of “The Nutcracker”. Offenbach’s music, both intensely witty and intensely dramatic, is the perfect vehicle to present the Romantic, richly imaginative world of the storyteller E.T.A. Hoffmann, combining fantasy, gravity and comedy. Sung in the original French with English subtitles.

“The artistry on display here is out of this world.”

“Tales of Hoffmann' was absolutely fabulous! I saw it yesterday afternoon with friends. We all raved about it all through dinner. I have seen many operas in big-name locations --- and paid 4 to 5 times the price -- and this performance at McIntyre Hall in Mount Vernon ranked right up there with the best of 'em”

“Terrific performance! The sopranos in particular were outstanding, as was Dr. Miracle.”
